The Three Purifying Herbs of the Grimorium Verum Class-Bundle

$44.00

A one-off self-contained presentation recording on the three central herbs of the True Grimoire, that infamous manual of goetic spirit conjuration, exploring practices for working with hallowed waters and these potent plant-allies in nigromantic operations and experiments; offering comparative study of asperging practices in the grimoires, as well as investigation into the role, offices, and character of Elelogaap, the kingly spirit of the waters in this manual of goetia.

This class-bundle consists of a recording of hour-and-a-half of illustrated lecture, the slide-deck for student’s own notes, along with a bibliography and full set of suggested reading to follow up in their own investigations and experimentations as well as a course list of further class and course recordings on necromancy and goetic magic. This presentation was originally made at the Botanica Obscura Conference in March 2024.

Within the pages of that infamous manual of black magic known as the Grimorium Verum (or True Grimoire) are found not only the instructions for conjuring devilish spirits but the very means to consecrate, regulate, and empower one’s instruments and operations – that is, by asperging with three potent purifying herbs: marjoram, mint, and rosemary.

These three purifiers – neatly instantiating and honouring the three ancient Greek worlds of Sky, Underworld, and Sea – offer much for those who traffick with all manner of so-called ‘unclean’ spirits: from chthonic elementals to demonised daimones, and indeed (perhaps especially) those spirits deemed dangerous even by our pagan ancestors. Working with oroganummenthe, and coronis presents means for the conjuror to make pacts, the exorcist to cleanse spaces, and the witch and sorcerer alike to return themselves to grounded and stable humoural equilibrium.

In the course of these investigations, we discuss not only these Three Purifiers, but the wider herbalism of goetic conjuration; the importance of nigromantic asperging practices; the spirits and spiritwork of the GV, especially the role and significance of Elelogap, kingly spirit of the waters; and investigate a host of both traditional and experimental spellcrafts with these chthonic entities and energies.

Through this presentation Dr Alexander Cummins shares advice and techniques gleaned from years of practical and occasionally hard-won experience for working with these three powerful plant allies in cunning works of goetia and beyond.
